Fashion blogger Petra Dieners writes about her visit to our PIO O'KAN Couture Atelier

The couture designer was born in the small town of Warburg in Westphalia. Even as a child, she dreamed of one day owning a fashion salon in Düsseldorf. At 26, she "defended the hell out of it," as she put it, and hosted a fashion show at the Steigenberger Parkhotel with 52 women from Düsseldorf's society. "Everyone was thrilled with my first collection, and so I opened my first fashion salon on Königsstraße shortly thereafter."
When you talk to the couture designer , you can see how much passion she still has for her profession, even 40 years later. "Many people only see the glamour, but not the amount of hard work that goes into it. If you're not that passionate and don't put your heart and soul into it, you can't keep it up. Now we're keeping our fingers crossed for the next generation, my son Philippo." Together with designer Hans Werner Klein and studio manager Mirjam Zwick, they are continuing to develop the company.
Since 2016, in addition to the Haute Couture, there has also been a Demi-Couture collection , which is sold in the company's own flagship store directly next to the Haute Couture Salon, as well as in selected retail outlets.
The PIO O'KAN couture salon is now located in the Girardet Haus on Königsallee in Düsseldorf. I love coming here! The atmosphere is wonderful. You feel like a princess in Paris in the elegant ambiance, the high ceilings, and the warm hospitality.
Who has a studio right on the Kö? PIO O'KAN employs a total of 25 people here. Traditional craftsmanship at the highest level. Absolute precision is required here. The working atmosphere immediately strikes me as very good. Everyone is dedicated to detail.
