50 Years of PIO O’KAN – Half a Century of Couture History

On September 18, 2025, the Düsseldorf couture house PIO O’KAN celebrated its 50th anniversary, a milestone that attracted attention far beyond its own premises. The Lokalbüro Düsseldorf wrote: "Exactly 50 years ago, designer Helga Okan presented her first couture collection; today, PIO O’KAN is one of the established names in the Düsseldorf fashion scene."
Around 150 invited guests, including long-standing clients, companions, and friends of the house, gathered in the stylish ambience of the Girardet-Haus on Königsallee. Current models from the ready-to-wear line were shown, as well as selected couture pieces from the house's archive.
The anniversary show itself became a fashionable journey through five decades. Archival pieces met current designs, making visible what has always distinguished PIO O’KAN: craftsmanship, clear lines, and timeless elegance.
The Top Magazin Düsseldorf summarized this impression in its article with the words: "PIO O’KAN is and remains dedicated to haute couture – the signature of the house is still unmistakable today."
The connection between tradition and present was particularly highlighted. Lokalbüro Düsseldorf further wrote: "The anniversary show impressively demonstrated how the fashion house succeeds in preserving its history while consistently looking forward." A sentence that probably summarizes the spirit of this evening better than any self-description.
The house itself was also touched. In a social media post, it stated: "We look back with gratitude on 50 years of company history and thank everyone who has accompanied us on this journey." A quiet but powerful statement for a major milestone.
Thus, the 50th company anniversary was not only a festive evening but a publicly perceived fashion event that once again underlined the importance of PIO O’KAN for the Düsseldorf and German fashion scene, and at the same time showed that this story is far from over.
